4200 Front cam chain cover removal advice

To remove it, you need a full height lift really. its a two person job, one with a pry bar on the flywheel via the access hole in the bottom of the bellhousing and the other with a half inch breaker bar on the crank nut. Push don’t pull as it will slip and the injury will be nasty. A cheap...

QP/GT front subframes - the truth

Exactly this. There are several access points to coat the internals. Personally I use Waxoyl. Yes a bit old school but it still does a fantastic job. The OEM Waxoyl gun (available from Halfords) comes with pipes with holes in so you can pull and push in to cavities to fully coat them. When...

    CEL - Cam Position Sensor

Correlation means the ecu sees the position of the crank and cam via the tdc crank sensor and camshaft sensor…that does not return expected state. The variators alter this via the variators solinoid. So it’s seeing a mismatch which can be as simple as a sensor (seen it say cam but ends up...

4200 Front cam chain cover removal advice

Seconded crank pulley removal. If you break it on a 4200 it’s £2k to replace (or was when MAFs needed changing but I had a good used one I sold him for £400)

    2 Seater MC Stradale 47k

It’s under priced for sure. Just remember the clutch, a £5k bill coming at 40-45k miles. Discs need to come off and be inspected for cracks on the reverse around the rotor fixings….then all the other stuff.

    Cold Start Noise

As you have it out, stick it on the AC pump and the alternator, might as well but sounds like good news.

    Cold Start Noise

Timing does not slip, the very end bit of the guide snaps off and sits at the bottom of the timing case. The guide is a tenner but whilst you are in there with the chain off you may as well replace it and all the guides as a kit (£600)…so the costs start to ramp up. Then you could change the...

    Cold Start Noise

If you cant hear the noise then it’s probably not what I was thinking. If it’s just the sewing machine chatter that’s just the injectors

    Cold Start Noise

Ok, so I have had a good listen to this. First thing of note, your dipstick is not pushed all the way home. The sewing machine sound are the injectors and totally normal but if you listen on, you can hear like a washing machine on full spin type of sound which suggest chain or more so chain...

    Ghibli Diesel due a service

This is correct and a common issue. You have to reset the service due indicator under body computer and the oil life reset which is under engine. Anything newer than 2017 you need specific Maserati diagnostics to bypass the security box Maserati put in.

    HOW TO: Heater Matrix Repair

I would need to look at it but maybe a simpler way is to disconnect the two pipes in the engine bay where they go through the bulkhead? You could then rig up a return pipe. If you do remove the glove box there is a triangular mounting plate directly under the heater matrix, if it’s wet or...
