Sorry to be reading this guy's it's not easy for many from what I see and I'm keeping a close eye as still got my family in the UK.
We choose to live a simple life here with nothing too extravagant and if needs be I've got cars to sell.
Take Care everyone.

We know the world is not always balanced in the favour of the best or most decent folk often. I do fear the UK and other modern western countries seem to be heading on an odd nonsensical path to implosion and destruction. Seems odd to me. However, a lot has always seemed odd to me so not sure that is so odd I guess.

I think you have the right idea Phil. A simpler life, relying less on the impoverished systems we have to mainly endure. Tough to function so easily these days buying out of the systems that control as they seek to suck you in harder and deeper than ever. More self sufficiency seems prudent.

I feel your pain Dean, I sometimes feel like the world is against me when it comes to moving forward with my plans. A series of circumstances including the pandemic has meant a 3-4 year investment has already been 7 years and I expect it will at least another year. -Cost of debt financing having massive impact on private equity investment and guessing we need to get through both the US and elections before financial markets settle down. But have far too much invested both financially and emotionally to walk away.

Yes, feels similar to me and my position too. Seems so close and yet so far away all at the same time. One single person could literally change our lives overnight and forever. The last 4 years have been extremely difficult, painful and expensive in so many ways. I'm sure we are far from alone in this.

I am yet to give up the fight although at times it would have been inordinately easy and justified to do so. Lets hope things do improve but I fear and am planning for the worst. If it doesn't continue along the path of where I think it goes then great....bonus. On my head stone it will say.....'He was one of life's triers' I'm sure.

I wish a good outcome and soon for you ;)

I didn't try at School as that wasn't my thing I was just obsessed with cars, motorbikes and women and wanted to be out there playing with them.
The results are I've been trying ever since :)
