Well done trying.
Full marks for persistence.
It's phenomenal how simple jobs, like changing a battery - a component which all cars have had since the invention of horseless carriages, can prove to be quite impossible.
I think that was the problem, Felonious Horse kept getting in the way!

Compared to doing the Maser GTS battery, it's a right bloody pain in the arris. The worst part (ignoring the hex bolt at the back which is accessible only to earthworms) is the front clamps, which slide off to allow the removal of the battery. Well, they would slide off, but there's a large piece of car in the way, so they don't. One 'how-to' showed how to use an angle grinder to solve the problem. I used brute force, cussin' and coffee.

Following on from my weekend triumphs, today I booked my notMaser in to have the correct battery fitted by a trained professional.

Oddly, he appeared to be equally happy if I were to do it myself. **** that. I know I can do it, and I have no need to prove it again.
