This weekend sees Prescott Hill Climb celebrating a nation renowned for its passion for everything automobile related with the running on Saturday May 11th of Prescott Italia.
The day will see the fifth running of the event, supported by the world’s only English language Italian car magazine, Auto Italia.

It will witness a diverse array of Italian built machinery tackling the hill, including some of the world’s greatest supercars.

No fewer than seven Ferraris are scheduled to take on the challenging hill climb course, amongst them a California and an F430 Spider F1. Representing Lamborghini will be a Huracan, Countach LP5000QV and an SVJ.

Maserati will be represented by, amongst others, a Karif, of which fewer than 250 were built and a Sebring from the 1960s. Also on hand will be two examples of the iconic rally supercar, the Lancia Stratos.

Other Lancia built rally related models in action will include Fulvias and a host of Delta Integrales.

The history of the Alfa Romeo marque can be traced all the way back to 1910 and there will be a diverse array of their models in action. These will include Giulias, GTs and Spider sportscar models. Four of the mid engines 4C sports cars will also be taking to the hill along with a Stelvio Quadrifoglio, the super SUV which produces no less than 520bhp.

The strongest marque on the day, numerically speaking, will be Fiat with many of the cars present carrying the iconic Abarth scorpion logo. Founded as an independent company in 1949, Abarth is these days Fiat’s own performance are. The Abarth models in action will include earlier models such as the 500 Topolino and 850TC Nurburgring through the 12 4 Spyder to the more recent 595 Competizione.

Finally, perhaps the most unique car on show, although by no means the fastest, will be the Lawil Willam, with the Lambretta powered microcar possibly being unfamiliar to even the most enthusiastic automotive fan.

The action in this non competitive hill drive event will get underway from 10am and is scheduled to continue until 4.00pm. There will be a variety of static displays and trade stands on hand plus a variety of outlets providing everything from light refreshments to meals with an Italian flavour.

Early Bird Admission for adults, available up to May 10th, is £10 with accompanied under 16s admitted free of charge. Bugatti Owners’ Club members can also enjoy free admission. Overnight camping is £10.

Further information and online booking is available at prescotthillclimb.co.uk.

My detailer was very pleased when we asked if we could postpone work on the S2000 as he was flat out with work for this event - there should be lots of very shiny cars around

I used to 'show' there each year, but it's clubs only... so going to visit family instead this year.

The Karif won’t be attending in all probability. I met the owner yesterday and it seems unwilling to start at present for reasons he is struggling to ascertain.
